groups
I have chosen to do groups as I believe that it was best suited to me.

refining my photographs.
David Stewart
This photographer takes images of everyday grouped people, but also ones that are different such as a man in a bed among exam desks. I like his work because of the way some oh the images have been staged and the way some of the images show emotion.
I think that they are friends who are having a lunch break at collage or university. All of them have their phones out and they aren't socialising with each other. The photographer used soft light so it didn't create any harsh shadows. The space above indicates that, that's where there thoughts go. The darkest part of the image is at the bottom and the lightest is at the top. The image draws your eyes to the girl in the middle as she is wearing the lightest jumper. Also all the girls are wearing different jumpers which shows their individuality.

august sander
This is my original image of my response to August saunder.
my original image before editing it to look like August Sanders work.

Here I edited the image to try and replicate August Sanders work. I changed the image to black and white, I then adjusted the levels of the image. I also change the brightness and contrast to try and get my response as close to August Sander as I could.

developing my ideas
In all of the first set of images I made the background blurry so the focus of the image was on the models face. In all of the second set of images I made the model blurry as well as the background.
In the first image I left a boarder around each of the images. I did this because I wanted to present each of the images individually but put them all together so it is like Ann Hamilton's work. In the second Image I didn't put a boarder around any of the images, instead I took a slightly different approach to try and make it my own. I used photo's where the model had done different poses but with the same background, on the same line to try and create the effect of different moods.
This image is the closest image to Ann Hamilton's work, so I am going to apply this to my other images.

developing my final piece.
Both of the grids are exactly the same but I blurred the ones on the right to try and create more of a dramatic effect.
resolving my ideas.
To get this image I just simply added both the blurry images and the original ones.
